About John Robert

From childhood John Robert always had an ability to “Think Outside of the Box” with his art.  He always had a natural artistic ability with a variety of mediums (Leather tooling, Stained Glass, and Pottery), where he had won many awards before he could even drive a car. 

In 2000, John Robert soon discovered his true artistic passion was in carving, specifically eggs.

His first carved egg was completed in May 2000 (The Red Rose carved in an Ostrich Egg).  Early on, John Robert collaborated and studied with world renowned artisans in the art of Egg & Gunstock carving. John Robert owes tremendous gratitude to many of his mentors, Master Carvers Gary LeMaster, Beverly Harder, Dr. Lew Jensen, Craig & Keith Hone, Alexander Caldwell and Karen Hollerman-Kettering.

John Robert’s earlier intricate and “High Styled” designs quickly became highly sought after. The majority of his work are commissioned pieces, that remain in private art collections. 

Having been a master egg carving artist since early 2000, John Robert has been recognized and honored with numerous awards and recognition.

Giving back to his community and charitable foundations, has been a core value for John Robert. Over the years he has graciously donated many of his pieces for charitable auctions. 

John Robert continues to use his vision in expanding his techniques, since Art is forever evolving.

John Robert is a member of both the prestigious Egg Art International, and The World Egg Artist Association.  Recently John Robert was inducted into the prestigious 2024 Invited Artist Catalogue / Encyclopedia by The World Egg Artists Association.
